All candidates are interviewed comprehensively, face to face if possible or (if they are currently overseas or live outside of Auckland) via telephone. We spend time with the candidates understanding their drivers and motivators including:

  • What their career goals are in the next 3 – 5 years
  • What they enjoy/ don’t enjoy about their work and why
  • The kind of environment they like working in terms of culture, communication and leadership style
  • Where their skills and expertise lie
  • Technical competencies (and areas for improvement)
  • Salary expectations, notice and holiday requirements

Candidates are also all required to complete and sign an application form that covers issues including:

  • Contact information
  • Medical conditions that may affect their ability to do the job
  • Entitlement to work in NZ
  • Criminal convictions (including charges pending)
  • Professional indemnity claims

We also require candidates to produce evidence of:

  • Academic transcripts
  • Admission certificates
  • Immigration status

We also conduct comprehensive reference checks and can incorporate any questions you have into our own set of questions.
